- Will the MP4 loop the way the GIF did?
- Looping is a player setting rather than something stored in the file. Social platforms and a video tag carrying the loop attribute repeat it automatically, while a desktop media player may run it once and stop.
- How much smaller does the animation get?
- Ten to twenty times is normal. GIF stores each frame almost independently, whereas H.264 records only what changed between frames, and change is exactly what an animation is short on.
- Why does the video have no sound?
- There was none to carry across. The GIF format has no audio track at all, so the MP4 is written as a video only file.
